Who We Are

Welcome to Oski Lab! Founded in December 2013, Oski Lab connects undergraduate computer scientists with graduate students and professors in the social sciences to build, clean, and analyze massive data sets. In the past year, we have collected data on: marijuana, wine, and beer markets; bitcoin, commodity and foreign exchange traders; crowdfunding; pick-up artists; and labor markets.

What We Do

Our interdisciplinary group is combining a number of computational approaches, including unsupervised and supervised machine learning, natural language processing, distributed systems, and computational photography and machine vision with traditional econometric approaches and social theory to better understand the relationship between the social, political, cultural, and economic dimensions of everyday life.
